President Zardari chairs a meeting in Karachi to address security challenges in Sindh Province, emphasizing decisive actions against criminals and drug traffickers. The meeting focuses on enhancing security measures in Karachi and the Kacha area, proposing initiatives to make Karachi a drug-free city and improve law enforcement.

President Asif Ali Zardari chaired a meeting in Karachi to address the security and law enforcement issues in Sindh Province. He emphasized the need for Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to take decisive actions against criminals, dacoits in the Kacha area, and drug traffickers. The President called for close collaboration between the federal government and other provinces to ensure a stable law and order situation.

During the meeting, law enforcement agencies briefed President Zardari on the security challenges in Karachi and the Kacha area. He stressed the importance of effective monitoring of the city's entrances and exits, completion of the Karachi Safe City Project, and enhanced security measures for Chinese citizens.

Zardari also highlighted the ongoing operation in the Kacha area, directing the establishment of more police check posts and provision of necessary equipment to the Sindh Police. He urged expedited development projects in Sindh, emphasizing the launch of initiatives along the River Sindh and seeking community support to address tribal and Kacha area issues.

The President expressed concerns about drug proliferation in educational institutions and called for making Karachi a drug-free city. He proposed compulsory drug tests for students, establishment of rehabilitation centers, and awareness campaigns among parents. Zardari suggested amendments to anti-narcotics laws to empower police in drug cases and strict actions against drug mafias.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reported significant improvements in the law and order situation following stringent actions against street crimes in Karachi and operations against dacoits in the Kacha area. He highlighted the reduction in crime rates compared to previous years and ongoing efforts to enhance police capacity and control street crime.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Shah, and Ziaul Hasan Linjar.
