Recent data from Rescue-1122 has revealed alarming statistics regarding road accidents in Punjab. In the past week, there were a total of 1196 accidents resulting in six fatalities and 1301 injuries. The victims of these accidents were primarily drivers, underage drivers, pedestrians, and passengers.
The city most affected by these incidents was Lahore, with 231 accidents and 271 individuals impacted. Multan and Faisalabad also reported significant numbers of accidents, with 80 and 78 incidents respectively.
Analysis of the vehicles involved in these accidents shows that motorcycles were the most common, followed by rickshaws, cars, vans, buses, trucks, and other types of vehicles.
