The Sindh High Court Bar Association petitions for action against rising street crimes in Sindh, highlighting concerns about criminal activities and the need for improved law enforcement to ensure public safety.

The Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) has taken a stand against the increasing incidents of street crimes, kidnappings, and deteriorating law and order in Sindh. In a petition filed with the Sindh High Court (SHC), the association has raised concerns about the surge in criminal activities, particularly in areas like Karachi, Kashmore, Kandhkot, Ghotki, and Sukkur.

The SHCBA members are alarmed by the escalating street crimes in Karachi, which have resulted in loss of lives and injuries due to armed robberies, mobile and vehicle thefts. They have highlighted the unsafe environment prevailing in Karachi, where residents live in fear for their safety.

The petitioners have drawn attention to the chaos in Karachi caused by the rising crime rates, creating a sense of fear and insecurity among the populace. They have also pointed out the apprehension in districts such as Kashmore, Kandhkot, Ghotki, and Sukkur due to the presence of armed robbers and dacoits, making movement risky, especially after dark.

The SHCBA has criticized the law enforcement agencies for their perceived failure to effectively address the situation, leaving the residents vulnerable to criminal elements. They have called for immediate action by the police and Rangers to combat street crimes, armed robberies, kidnappings, and extortion, with the aim of ensuring the safety of the people.

In response to the petition, the association has demanded an independent inquiry into the shortcomings of the law enforcement agencies and proposed a comprehensive strategy by the Sindh government to restore law and order. This strategy includes increased patrolling, surveillance, and community policing initiatives in Karachi and other affected districts.

The petition filed by the Sindh High Court Bar Association sheds light on the pressing issue of rising street crimes in Sindh, particularly in Karachi and surrounding areas. The call for immediate action to address the deteriorating law and order situation reflects the urgent need to ensure the safety and security of the residents. It is imperative for the authorities to heed these concerns and implement effective measures to combat crime and restore peace in the region.
