The Sindh High Court takes strict action against the Board of Revenue over Landhi plot occupation and rules to remove the Fishermen Co-operative Society administrator.

The Sindh High Court has taken strict action against the senior member of the Board of Revenue following a petition concerning the occupation of 2,300 plots in Landhi. The court issued a contempt notice after the senior members failed to appear, sparking outrage. The petitioner's counsel highlighted the Board of Revenue's negligence in registering the Landhi Cottage Industries Scheme, leading to a legal battle over the land.

During the hearing, the court demanded the Member Board of Revenue's presence at the next session to provide clarity on the land's status. The petitioners claimed that the plots allocated in 1993 for cottage industries by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had been illegally occupied, preventing them from taking possession.

The Board of Revenue representative argued that the land was not intended for cottage industries and had been allocated to different individuals, resulting in land disputes. The petitioners insisted on their rightful entitlement to the land they had paid for.

Consequently, the court served a contempt notice on the senior member of the Board of Revenue and adjourned the hearing. In a separate case, the court addressed a petition against the Fishermen Co-operative Society administrator's refusal to step down after his tenure ended.

The court ruled in favor of removing administrator Zahid Ibrahim from the Fishermen Cooperative Society and suspended the notification supporting him. A two-member committee appointed by the Registrar will oversee the society's operations moving forward.
