The Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced the addition of two new routes to the Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi, a service exclusively for women. Currently operational on the R1 route from Model Colony Malir to Tower via Shahrah-e-Faisal, the service is set to introduce the new routes on April 19.

One of the new routes, R10, will start from Numaish Chowrangi and pass through key locations in the city, providing a safe and convenient travel option for women. The decision to expand the Pink Bus Service was made during a meeting chaired by Memon to discuss new transport projects in Karachi and Mirpurkhas.

Alongside the route expansion, the government plans to launch the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas on April 20, aiming to enhance public transportation in the region. Additionally, a cashless automated fare collection smart card service is scheduled to be introduced on April 25, simplifying the fare payment process for commuters.

The Pink People’s Bus Service, initiated on February 1, is a pioneering effort by the Sindh government to offer a secure and comfortable commuting option for women in Karachi. The recent developments highlight the government’s dedication to improving public transportation in the region, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility for all commuters.
