Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur faces legal challenges over asset disclosure as the Peshawar High Court suspends Election Commission's summon notice, raising questions about post-election jurisdiction and transparency.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed readiness to engage in discussions with the establishment for the betterment of the country. He emphasized that no ransom was paid for the recovery of a judge, commending the efforts of the forces involved in the operation. CM Gandapur also criticized the federal government for earning Rs 300 billion from tobacco in his province, stating that only GST would be received this time, not the full amount.

In a recent development, the Peshawar High Court suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan's summon notice to CM Ali Amin Gandapur in an assets case. The court requested a response from the ECP regarding the issuance of the notice, questioning its authority to demand asset details after the completion of the election process. The petitioner's lawyer argued that all necessary information was already available on the ECP website, making the notice redundant.

This decision by the PHC highlights the ongoing legal challenges faced by CM Gandapur and raises questions about the jurisdiction of the Election Commission post-election. The case underscores the complexities of asset disclosure requirements for public officials and the need for clarity in such matters to ensure transparency and accountability.
