The Minister for Defense, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has highlighted the pressing need for stricter security measures at the National Assembly building and its surroundings. He expressed concerns about unidentified individuals loitering around critical areas, posing potential security risks.

Khawaja Asif emphasized the importance of reestablishing a pass issuance system for Members of the National Assembly to bolster security within the Parliament premises. He stressed the significance of robust security protocols to avert any security breaches.

Referring to a recent incident in Dasu involving an unchecked suspicious vehicle for ten days, Khawaja Asif underscored the urgency of tightening security measures. He also addressed disruptive behavior, such as slogan chanting, by individuals in the gallery, emphasizing the need to uphold the decorum of the House.

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, mentioned issuing verbal and written directives on security protocols, including random checks on Senate guests. He assured that necessary steps have been taken to ensure the safety of the Parliament, following discussions with Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and the Inspector General of Islamabad police.
