Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari, sworn in as a member of the National Assembly, continuing the Bhutto-Zardari political legacy in Pakistani politics.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former President Asif Ali Zardari, was sworn in as a member of the National Assembly on Monday. This marks her entry into the incumbent Parliament, following in the footsteps of her brother Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who is also a member of the National Assembly.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq during a session of the lower house of the parliament. The session had been called on the requisition of opposition parties, leading to some protests from opposition lawmakers. They displayed placards and chanted slogans while Aseefa was taking the oath.

Aseefa's election as a Member of the National Assembly from NA-207 Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh was uncontested and took place on March 29.

The Bhutto family has a long-standing legacy in Pakistani politics, with Aseefa's mother Benazir Bhutto serving as Prime Minister of Pakistan on two separate occasions. Aseefa's entry into the National Assembly further solidifies the family's presence in the country's political landscape.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari's swearing-in as a member of the National Assembly represents a significant moment in Pakistani politics. As she takes on her new role, she joins her brother Bilawal in representing the Bhutto-Zardari political dynasty in the country's legislative body.
