Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro takes over Trauma and Surgical department at Civil Hospital Makli in Thatta, aiming to modernize healthcare services for the underprivileged population.

Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro has assumed control of the Trauma and Surgical department at Civil Hospital Makli in Thatta. Dr. Ikramullah Ujan, the Vice Chancellor of LUMHS Jamshoro, expressed his commitment to modernize the hospital to better serve the underprivileged population of Thatta district.

Dr. Ujan commended a team of doctors, including Professor Dr. Sugrah Parveen, Professor Dr. Mashoque Ali Khowaja, Dr. Gul Muhammad Qazi, and Dr. Iqbal Memon, for successfully performing leproscopy-surgery to treat gallbladder cancer. He highlighted the hospital's capability to treat life-threatening diseases through surgery, crediting the local management for driving revolutionary change.

Dr. Sugrah Parveen mentioned that the surgical ward at Civil Hospital Thatta offers treatments for Intestine prethotitis, lungs infection, Thyroid infection, and chest infection. Dr. Ujan announced plans to introduce an MBBS program at LUMHS campus Thatta and establish three medical colleges in the near future to elevate healthcare standards at Civil Hospital Thatta.

Dr. Mashoque Ali Khowaja emphasized their dedication to enhancing healthcare standards in Thatta, an area in Sindh that faces significant underprivilege.
