An anti-terrorism court in Lahore grants a 3-day physical remand for PTI leader Shabbir Gujjar, accused of attacking a police party in Valencia Town. The case involves serious charges including firing at the police and seizing a rifle.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has granted a 3-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shabbir Gujjar to the police. The decision came after Gujjar and others were accused of attacking a police party at a picket in Valencia Town.

The police had initially requested a 14-day physical remand for Gujjar, citing the incident where he allegedly opened fire on the police, assaulted officials, and seized a rifle during the confrontation. A case of terrorism had been filed against Gujjar by the Satto Katla police the day before the court hearing.

During the court proceedings, Gujjar's counsel opposed the remand request, seeking his client's release from the case. However, after considering arguments from both sides, the ATC Judge Arshad Javed decided to grant a 3-day physical remand for Gujjar. He is scheduled to appear before the court again on April 25, following the expiration of the remand term.

Shabbir Gujjar, a prominent PTI leader, found himself in legal trouble after being implicated in an incident involving an attack on a police party in Valencia Town. The allegations include firing at the police, assaulting officers, and taking possession of a rifle, leading to the filing of a terrorism case against him.

The decision to place Shabbir Gujjar on a 3-day physical remand underscores the seriousness of the charges against him. As the case unfolds, further details are expected to emerge regarding the circumstances of the alleged attack on the police party.
