The Sindh High Court is actively addressing electoral disputes and human rights violations, including cases involving PTI, PPP, ECP, and missing person Sameer Afridi.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has been actively addressing various petitions concerning electoral disputes and human rights violations in recent hearings.

In a recent development, the SHC transferred a petition filed by PTI candidate Ghulam Mustafa Rind to the Hyderabad Circuit Bench. Rind challenged the unopposed victory of PPP leader Aseefa Bhutto in the NA-207 Nawabshah by-election, alleging that the dismissal of nomination papers of rival candidates was unlawful. Rind claimed that his nomination was rejected due to a non-existent electricity bill and subsequent arrest when he sought clarification.

Another SHC bench summoned a response from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding a petition concerning the return of reserved seats for the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC). The petitioner argued that the ECP's order was illegal and requested the court to intervene in the allocation of Senate seats.

Furthermore, the SHC responded to a petition regarding the disappearance of Sameer Afridi for eight years. Afridi's mother, expressing despair, emphasized the need for justice and accused the government of perpetrating terrorism. The court assured her of support and ongoing efforts to locate her son.

In conclusion, the Sindh High Court's proactive stance on electoral disputes and human rights issues reflects a commitment to upholding justice and accountability in the region.
