Hemant Soren, the opposition leader in India, granted bail and set to resume as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand after facing corruption charges. His return marks a significant shift in the state's political landscape.

Recently, Hemant Soren, a prominent Indian opposition leader, has been granted bail and is set to resume his role as the chief minister of Jharkhand state. The 48-year-old leader was released on bail on Jun 28 after facing corruption charges, which led to his temporary replacement by Champai Soren. However, with Hemant's return, Champai willingly stepped down, allowing Hemant to reclaim his position.

Hemant's arrest was linked to an alleged land scam investigation by the Enforcement Directorate, a move that was met with denial and claims of political motives by his supporters. Jharkhand, a state with a population of around 32 million, is now gearing up for a leadership change as Hemant prepares to resume his duties.

Interestingly, Hemant's situation mirrors that of another opposition leader, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, who also faced arrest by the same law enforcement agency. Despite being temporarily released for campaigning during elections, Kejriwal was later returned to custody post-election and remains in jail.

With Hemant's impending return, the political landscape in Jharkhand is undergoing a significant shift. The opposition alliance is ready to reinstate him as their leader, marking a crucial development in the state's governance.
