A group of esteemed Buddhist leaders recently convened with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. The delegation, consisting of prominent figures from Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, and Nepal, is currently in Pakistan to participate in a symposium and exhibition titled ‘From Gandhara to the World,’ organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The symposium is being held in conjunction with ‘Vesak Day,’ a significant occasion that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha. During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif warmly welcomed the delegation and commended their participation in the event. He highlighted Pakistan's rich Buddhist heritage, particularly the historical significance of Gandhara art and culture in northwest Pakistan dating back over two thousand years.
