CDK Global is strategically recovering from a cyber attack to restore services for auto dealerships in the U.S., focusing on cybersecurity and customer satisfaction.

CDK Global, a prominent software company, has embarked on a phased strategy to bring back online the auto dealerships on its Dealer Management System (DMS) after facing a cyber attack-induced outage in the United States. The company has successfully onboarded a small initial test group of dealers and plans to gradually include others once validation is completed.

On Wednesday, June 19, CDK took the decision to temporarily halt all its systems to investigate a cyber incident. With a vast network of over 15,000 retail locations in North America, CDK is now concentrating on restoring its customer relationship management, service solutions, and customer care channels.

The outage has resulted in some U.S. auto dealers resorting to manual paperwork. Notably, about half of Volkswagen dealers and approximately 60% of Audi dealers in the U.S. have been impacted by the ongoing CDK outage.

As CDK diligently works towards addressing the consequences of the cyber attack, the company is committed to minimizing disruptions and reinstating normal operations for its dealership clients.

CDK Global's proactive steps to recover from the cyber attack and restore services to auto dealerships demonstrate their dedication to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. By gradually bringing dealerships back online and ensuring thorough validation processes, CDK aims to provide a seamless experience for its clients while prioritizing cybersecurity measures to prevent future incidents.
