The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has made a significant stride in promoting agricultural exports by facilitating the transportation of cherries to China. Through the use of specialized refrigerated containers, NLC ensures that the cherries maintain their freshness throughout the journey. The first truck carrying 6 tons of cherries has successfully arrived in China via the Khunjerab Pass, with another truck set to depart from Gilgit-Baltistan next week.

One of NLC's pivotal contributions has been assisting its local partner in establishing an international-standard processing plant. This state-of-the-art facility complies with global quarantine regulations and is fully equipped to process, sort, and package premium-quality cherries. Building on the triumph of the initial shipment, NLC is committed to sending cherries to various Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Huizhou.

By leveraging specialized refrigerated containers, NLC aims to empower orchard owners in Gilgit-Baltistan, enabling them to tap into a significant portion of the Chinese market. This endeavor not only uplifts the local growers by enhancing their socio-economic status but also bolsters Pakistan's foreign exchange reserves.

The initiative undertaken by the National Logistics Corporation to facilitate cherry exports to China marks a promising development in the realm of agricultural trade. By ensuring the delivery of fresh cherries to Chinese consumers and supporting local growers in Gilgit-Baltistan, NLC's efforts are poised to yield positive outcomes for both the agricultural sector and the national economy.
