Recent decrease in inflation leads to significant price reductions in essential food items in Islamabad, providing relief to households.

In a positive development for consumers in Islamabad, the recent decrease in Pakistan's inflation rate has led to a reduction in the prices of essential food items. Notably, the cost of a 15-kilogram flour bag has been slashed by Rs 600, providing much-needed relief to households. Market reports indicate that the price of a 10-kilogram flour bag has also seen a significant drop of Rs 270, now priced at Rs 1200 from its previous Rs 1470.

Furthermore, the price adjustments extend to various flour bag sizes, with a 15-kilogram bag now costing Rs 1650, down by Rs 600, and a 20-kilogram bag priced at Rs 2250 instead of the earlier Rs 2880. Additionally, the prices of small and large double roti (bread) have decreased by Rs 10 to 20, with a small double roti now priced at Rs 120 and a large one at Rs 220.

Moreover, the cost of first-grade flour has decreased to Rs 160 per kilogram from Rs 170, while second-grade flour is now priced at Rs 150 per kilogram, down from Rs 160. In the surrounding areas of Islamabad, Chakki flour prices have dropped to Rs 140 per kilogram from Rs 150. This positive trend follows a recent Rs 5 per kilogram reduction in flour prices by the Chakki Ata Association on April 22.

Overall, these price reductions in essential food items are a welcome development for consumers, providing some relief amidst economic challenges. It is hoped that such measures will continue to ease the burden on households and contribute to improved affordability of basic necessities.
