Manhattan Associates Inc. recently shared the outcomes of a groundbreaking analysis on Unified Commerce for specialty retail in Singapore at NRF Retail's Big Show APAC. This study, conducted in partnership with Google Cloud and Zebra Technologies, is the first of its kind in the region, with plans for similar studies in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The research, carried out by Incisiv through real shopping transactions, focused on various retail sectors like apparel, footwear, home goods, DIY, department stores, and luxury brands.

The evaluation in Singapore involved 33 retailers and examined more than 290 customer experience features across four key areas: search and discovery, cart and checkout, promising and fulfillment, and service and support. By analyzing data from actual purchases, returns, and customer journeys across online and offline channels, the study pinpointed successful retail practices and areas needing enhancement.

Five prominent brands, including Nike, Adidas, Dior, UNIQLO, and Charles & Keith, were identified as leaders in Unified Commerce based on the analysis. Notable discoveries from the research emphasized the necessity of ongoing innovation in Singapore's retail landscape, the rising popularity of AI-driven recommendations among shoppers, and the increasing preference for digital payment methods.

Moreover, the study underscored the potential of RFID technology in streamlining inventory management efficiency and the importance of providing seamless transactions to customers.
