Muhammad Shahid emphasizes timely reporting and wheat management strategies

The Director of Agriculture for Sargodha Division, Muhammad Shahid Sunday, emphasized the importance of timely reporting on wheat harvesting and threshing activities, as well as maintaining records of wheat production per acre. He made these remarks during a meeting held at Agriculture House to discuss wheat management strategies. Despite recent rains, no adverse effects on the wheat crop were reported during the meeting.

Shahid stressed the need to accelerate field activities to provide technical guidance to farmers on harvesting, storage, and wheat delivery. He also highlighted the importance of considering weather forecasts for the harvest and issuing wheat advisories accordingly. Shahid directed officials to offer immediate guidance on advanced cotton production techniques to farmers in Mianwali, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Khushab districts post-wheat harvest. Monitoring efforts were also urged to ensure the availability of quality agricultural inputs at fixed prices in local markets.

Furthermore, Shahid announced the launch of a cotton cultivation campaign to encourage farmers to increase cotton cropping in the division. As part of this initiative, all Agriculture Department staff have been assigned specific roles to support the campaign effectively.
