The Pakistan Stock Exchange saw a minor setback with the 100-index dropping by 70.01 points. Despite this, certain companies showed positive movements, indicating potential opportunities for investors.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a minor setback on Friday as the 100-index dropped by 70.01 points, marking a 0.09 percent decrease and closing at 80,212.79 points. This slight decline followed the previous day's closing of 80,282.80 points. Trading activity for the day saw a total of 448,981,017 shares exchanged, a decrease from the previous day's volume of 496,782,184 shares. The total value of shares traded amounted to Rs18.995 billion, down from Rs19.328 billion on the previous trading day.

During the trading session, 432 companies were active in the stock market. Among these, 152 companies witnessed gains, while 229 recorded losses. Share prices of 51 companies remained unchanged. The top three companies in terms of trading volume were Bank of Punjab, National BankXD, and PIA Holding Company. Bank of Punjab led the trading volume with 34,409,587 shares traded at Rs5.70 per share, followed by National BankXD with 28,497,851 shares at Rs46.91 per share, and PIA Holding Company with 25,106,233 shares at Rs19.90 per share.

Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited saw the highest increase in share price, climbing by Rs108.11 to close at Rs7,649.75 per share. Following closely was Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, which experienced a Rs65.16 increase in its share price, reaching Rs914.91 per share.

Despite the slight decline in the Pakistan Stock Exchange, certain companies showed positive movements, indicating potential opportunities for investors.
