Saudi Arabia demonstrates commitment to boosting exports through consistent issuance of certificates of origin, supporting Vision 2030 goals and enhancing global market competitiveness.

For the 14th consecutive month, Saudi Arabia has demonstrated the robustness of its export industry by issuing more than 30,000 certificates of origin in June. These certificates, granted by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, provide essential support to Saudi exporters across industrial, commercial, and individual sectors. This consistent issuance of permits highlights the Kingdom's commitment to fostering a thriving export environment. Notably, the number of permits has not dipped below 30,000 since April 2023, showcasing the sustained growth of Saudi exports.

Aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 plan, which aims to elevate non-oil exports to contribute 50% of the GDP by 2030, these certificates play a crucial role in verifying the national origin of products. By ensuring the authenticity of products, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources aids exporters in various sectors, bolstering their competitiveness in the global market.

The Ministry offers four distinct types of permits tailored to different export destinations: certificates for products destined for GCC countries, Arab nations, preferential origin destinations, and a bilingual version for countries without preferential treatment. These certificates are designed to enhance the cost-effectiveness and marketability of Saudi products, creating a win-win situation for both sellers and buyers.

Following a strategic decision to transfer the issuance of certificates of origin from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Industry, a user-friendly electronic platform was introduced in 2023. This digital platform enables businesses to conveniently obtain certification online, streamlining the process and saving valuable time and resources.

In May, the Ministry further bolstered its support for exporters by issuing 38,319 certificates of origin, underscoring its commitment to driving exports across diverse sectors. Saudi exports, characterized by their national origins, play a pivotal role in the economy, showcasing the Kingdom's industrial prowess in key sectors such as petrochemicals, minerals, refined products, and agricultural goods.

The consistent issuance of certificates of origin by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources reflects Saudi Arabia's dedication to nurturing a vibrant export ecosystem. By facilitating the verification of product origins and streamlining the certification process, the Ministry empowers Saudi exporters to expand their global footprint and contribute significantly to the nation's economic growth. With a clear focus on enhancing export capabilities, Saudi Arabia is poised to achieve its ambitious targets outlined in Vision 2030, driving sustainable development and prosperity for the Kingdom.
