SHEIN and UnTours Foundation Collaborate on Sustainable Fashion Initiatives

SHEIN, a global fashion brand, has pledged US$250,000 to The UnTours Foundation to aid a project in Cambodia that focuses on repurposing textile waste through collaboration with social enterprises. The UnTours Foundation, a non-profit organization, aims to provide financial assistance to businesses addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.

The recent grant from SHEIN will support an initiative in Cambodia that aims to promote circularity in textile waste management by helping local artisans repurpose discarded textiles. This partnership between SHEIN and The UnTours Foundation is crucial in tackling the global issue of textile waste, especially in regions like Cambodia that lack proper recycling infrastructure.

By supporting projects that target different stages of garment production, this collaboration strives to drive progress towards a more sustainable fashion industry. In 2022, SHEIN also backed The Or Foundation, operating in the Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana, a key center for secondhand clothing. The Or Foundation has been successful in redistributing funds, supporting allied organizations in African countries, repurposing clothing waste, and cleaning up beaches in Accra.

The UnTours Foundation, an extension of UnTours travel, invests its endowment in businesses globally that make positive contributions to society and the environment. Through financial support to impactful ventures, the foundation aims to inspire other organizations to adopt similar investment strategies.
