Women's economic empowerment was highlighted as a crucial human rights issue by Lansana Wonneh, the Country Representative of UN Women. He stressed the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs to foster a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Wonneh emphasized the need to break down structural barriers to achieve gender parity and address various forms of vulnerability and violence against women through enhanced policies and funding mechanisms.

The remarks were made during the National Women Trade Fair Certificate Distribution Ceremony and Eid Milan Party, organized in collaboration with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Commission on the Status of Women. The event aimed to promote women's advancement across all sectors, with a focus on economic empowerment.

Nilofar Bakhtiar, Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, echoed the significance of empowering women economically for societal development. Engineer Azhar ul Islam Zafar, Vice President of ICCI, emphasized the need for women to assume leadership roles in all spheres of life. He urged collaboration with organizations like UN Women and WCCI to empower women economically and secure their inherited rights nationwide.
