OGDCL and IPRI Launch Endowment of Economic Security Chair

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has recently joined hands with the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) to create an Endowment of Economic Security Chair. This collaboration, named the 'OGDCL-IPRI Chair,' was officially launched at an event attended by prominent figures from OGDCL, including Zafar Masud and Ahmed Hayat Lak, as well as representatives from the Bank of Punjab and other industry leaders.

The partnership, set to run for three years, signifies a significant step towards bridging the gap between the corporate sector and academia. The research agenda of the chair will cover a wide array of crucial topics such as Circular Economy, Green Entrepreneurship, De-carbonization of Oil and Gas value chains, Environmental Social Governance, Economic Viability of Renewable Energy, Shale Gas Development, and Exploration & Production in the context of Climate Change and Inflationary trends.

At the event, the Chairman of OGDCL stressed the pivotal role of research in achieving indigenization in the energy sector and advocated for reforms to attract investments in the Energy and Mining sectors. He also highlighted the necessity of establishing dedicated regulatory bodies and dispute resolution centers. Furthermore, the Chairman emphasized OGDCL's commitment to green financing and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in their operations.

The partnership between OGDCL and IPRI to establish the Endowment of Economic Security Chair marks a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between industry and academia.
