The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) implements measures to address exam integrity issues, including online admit cards and extended deadlines, to ensure fairness and academic excellence.

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) faced a concerning situation as the computer science paper for 9th grade was leaked and circulated on social media on the day of the exam. Despite efforts, the BSEK was unable to confirm the authenticity of the leaked paper, raising alarms among students and educators alike.

Today marked the commencement of examinations for both 9th and 10th grades, with strict measures in place to maintain exam integrity. The BSEK chairman issued a stern warning against students bringing mobile phones to the exam hall, emphasizing the importance of fair assessment.

The morning session of exams featured science group papers, while the second session was dedicated to general group papers. Notably, this year saw the introduction of online admit cards by the board office, allowing students to conveniently access their examination centers. Those who submitted forms online were able to print their admit cards, streamlining the process for candidates.

As a response to the evolving situation, the deadline for submitting exam forms for 9th and 10th grades has been extended until May 10, albeit with a Rs3,500 late fee for delayed submissions. Any missed exams during this period will be rescheduled for a later date, ensuring that students have a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

While challenges like paper leaks pose threats to the integrity of examinations, the BSEK is taking proactive steps to address such issues and uphold the credibility of the education system. By leveraging technology with online admit cards and extending deadlines, the board aims to provide a smoother and more secure exam experience for students, ultimately fostering a culture of academic excellence and fairness.
