Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Education Minister emphasizes transparency in exams, tackles paper leaks, and achieves cost savings through textbook reuse policy.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Faisal Khan Tarakai, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to maintaining transparency in the ongoing matriculation exams. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards paper leaks, Tarakai warned of strict actions against any individuals involved in such malpractices. In response to concerns raised on social media, Tarakai highlighted the swift identification and suspension of 12 officials linked to paper leaks, advocating for the prohibition of examination halls where breaches occur.

Tarakai praised the supervisory staff's performance, noting that 98 percent of personnel are executing their duties effectively. He debunked circulating fake examination papers on social media and assured disciplinary actions against those found guilty. The Department of Education's efforts to ensure exam integrity were commended, with Tarakai overseeing the implementation of Student Learning Outcome (SLO) based exams.

Despite assurances, criticism on social media regarding exam leaks has intensified, raising doubts about the examination process. In a separate development, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzamil Aslam, announced significant cost savings through the reuse of textbooks, saving Rs4 billion for the provincial government. Aslam disclosed plans to introduce incentives for maintaining textbooks and commended the successful implementation of the textbook reuse policy.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's education sector is actively addressing challenges to uphold exam integrity and achieve cost savings through innovative measures. While facing scrutiny, the government's commitment to transparency and efficiency remains steadfast, ensuring a fair and sustainable education system for the province.
