Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, seeks medical check-up amid poisoning fears and security risks in sub-jail, emphasizing fundamental rights and safety concerns in custody.

Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has filed an application in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) requesting a medical check-up due to concerns of potential slow poisoning. In her petition, Bushra Bibi expressed apprehensions about her health being compromised and urged the court to allow her to undergo tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital or a private facility of her choice.

The application, submitted through her lawyer Shoaib Shaheen, highlighted alleged security risks faced by Bushra Bibi in the sub-jail where she is currently held. She claimed to have discovered secret cameras in the bathroom, raising doubts about the safety of her surroundings. Additionally, Bushra Bibi alleged that she had experienced symptoms of poisoning after consuming food provided in the jail, citing a burning sensation in her mouth and throat.

Concerns over the presence of male individuals in the sub-jail and perceived threats to her life prompted Bushra Bibi to seek a transfer to Adiala Jail for her safety. Emphasizing the importance of upholding her fundamental rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan, the petition called for strict adherence to relevant articles to ensure her well-being.

Bushra Bibi's plea for a medical check-up and transfer to a different facility underscores the challenges she faces while in custody. The allegations of potential poisoning and security risks raise questions about the conditions in the sub-jail and the need for ensuring the safety and rights of all individuals, regardless of their status.
