Saudi Alliance for Agricultural and Food Technologies Launched in Riyadh

Recently, forty public and private organizations in Saudi Arabia joined forces to establish the Saudi Alliance for Agricultural and Food Technologies. This alliance aims to improve the food supply chain in response to the growing demand within the country. The inaugural event, held in Riyadh and spearheaded by Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, the deputy minister at the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, marked a significant milestone in the agricultural sector.

The founding members of the alliance, including the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, and Topian, a food subsidiary of NEOM, have come together with the primary goal of creating a community of individuals passionate about agricultural and food technology. The alliance seeks to foster connections and collaborations within the sector to drive innovation and progress.

During the launch event, Al-Mushaiti underscored the importance of establishing an environment that safeguards natural resources and ensures sustainable water and food security. He also highlighted the remarkable advancements made in the agriculture sector, which contributed a record $29 billion to the Kingdom's GDP in 2023.

With the formation of this collaborative platform, Al-Mushaiti expressed optimism about the potential for further financial growth and technological advancements in the field of agriculture and food technology in Saudi Arabia.
