Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah praises Sindh Assembly's legal initiatives, including the launch of Sindh Prosecution Roadmap 2025-2030, to promote justice, equality, and transparency in the region.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah highlighted the significant legislative efforts of the Sindh Assembly in implementing various citizen-centric initiatives during the launch of the Sindh Prosecution Roadmap 2025-2030. These initiatives include enhancing the capacity of prosecutors and judiciary on laws related to gender-based violence, anti-rape measures, protection of minority rights, legislation on forced conversion, and training of Sindh police in handling cases involving transgender individuals.

CM Murad Shah praised the commitment of the PPP to upholding the rule of law at the national level and commended the Sindh Assembly for enacting innovative initiatives to promote justice and equality. Notably, the enactment of Sindh Correction Services marked a significant achievement, making the Sindh Assembly the first legislative body in Asia to adopt substantial jail reforms.

The Sindh Road Map 2025-2030, developed with UNODC support, identified gaps in the Criminal Justice System regarding the rights of transgender persons, trafficking in persons, and minority rights. The launch of this roadmap signifies a crucial step towards advancing rule of law reforms.

CM Shah praised the dedication of the Sindh Criminal Prosecution Service Department in empowering the prosecution system for fair outcomes. He expressed the government's commitment to a transparent justice system in Sindh through the Prosecution Roadmap, thanking UNODC for their support in shaping an inclusive roadmap for the next five years.

He stressed the importance of policy and governance reforms for evidence-based decision-making and expressed confidence in UNODC's technical support. The event also saw contributions from Minister for Agriculture & Anti-Corruption Establishment Sardar Mohammad Bux Mahar, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and representatives from UNODC and the Sindh Prosecution Service Department.

The efforts of the Sindh Chief Minister and the Sindh Assembly in promoting justice, equality, and transparency in the legal system are commendable. The launch of the Sindh Prosecution Roadmap 2025-2030, in collaboration with UNODC, marks a significant milestone towards achieving a more inclusive and fair justice system in the region.
