The Inspector General of Police Punjab awards Ghazi Medals to 18 constables for exceptional bravery and sacrifices. Ceremony held in Bahawalpur region, highlighting dedication of Punjab Police.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, recently awarded Ghazi Medals to 18 constables from the Bahawalpur region in recognition of their exceptional bravery and sacrifices while serving in the line of duty. The ceremony took place at the Central Police Office, where the names of these courageous officers were inscribed on the prestigious Ghazi Wall.

The recipients of the medals hailed from various districts, with 15 constables from Rahim Yar Khan, two from Bahawalnagar, and one from Bahawalpur being honored. Among them, six constables from Rahim Yar Khan were commended for their courage in the face of a rocket attack by miscreants. Constable Adeel Jameel, who displayed remarkable bravery despite losing his eyesight and becoming disabled due to criminal firing, was also among the honored officers.

The brave Ghazi officers from Rahim Yar Khan district included Head Constables Muhammad Jameel, Altaf Hussain, Kaleemullah, Constables Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Naveed, Muneer Ahmed, Muhammad Imran Tabbasum, Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Tahir, Muhammad Adeel Jameel, Ammar Hassan, Saifullah, Sherbaz, Daniyal Islam, and Shehbaz Saleem. Additionally, Gulab Ali and Rashid Mahmood from Bahawalnagar district, and Constable Shahid Bashir from Bahawalpur district were also recognized for their valor.

IGP Punjab emphasized the significant allocation of funds, exceeding Rs. 130 million, for the treatment and support of over 2,000 Ghazi officers in the past year. This initiative was lauded by the honored officers, who expressed gratitude for the recognition and assistance provided to injured police personnel.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished police officials, including Additional IG Welfare and Finance, Additional IG Punjab, Commandant Police College Chung, SP Investigation Lahore, ASP Township Lahore, and other high-ranking officers.

The bravery and sacrifices of these police officers exemplify the dedication and valor displayed by law enforcement personnel in ensuring the safety and security of the community. The recognition and support extended to the Ghazi officers not only honor their service but also serve as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Punjab Police towards its personnel.
