Ms. Uzma Yousaf, the Country Director of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), recently met with Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, to discuss ways to further improve the education sector in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Dr. Khalid praised CAIE for its valuable contribution to providing quality education to the youth of Pakistan. He stressed the importance of expanding CAIE's impact within the country, especially in enhancing the assessment capabilities of local education boards. Transparency in assessments and increased engagement in the education sector were highlighted as key priorities.

Dr. Khalid also acknowledged the permission granted to local schools to conduct CAIE exams, with around 25 major local schools already participating. Plans were made for a National Seminar on Assessment Reforms in partnership with CAIE to elevate the assessment standards of local boards. Ms. Uzma extended an invitation to the federal minister to visit Cambridge, UK, to facilitate knowledge exchange between local institutions and the global expertise of Cambridge.

Furthermore, it was discussed that CAIE's involvement in the DARE and ASPIRE projects would be strengthened, signaling a broader role for the organization in educational initiatives.

The collaborative efforts between CAIE and the Federal Minister for Education hold promise for enhancing the quality of education in Pakistan. By focusing on transparency, engagement, and knowledge exchange, these initiatives aim to uplift the educational standards in the country and empower the youth for a brighter future.
