During the recent Eidul Azha celebrations, a total of 33 significant fire incidents occurred, causing damage to property and injuries to individuals. One such incident took place near Thokar Niaz Beg motorway, where an explosion in LPG cylinders resulted in injuries to three people and damage to multiple rickshaws. The explosion, which occurred due to cylinders placed on a roadside spot, led to a powerful blast and subsequent fire that spread to nearby vehicles, causing panic in the area.

Another major fire incident happened at Naseer Paper Mills in the Sundar Industrial Estate, Manga Mandi. The fire started in an open-air warehouse of the paper mill and quickly engulfed the entire structure. Emergency response teams, including 10 vehicles and 40 rescuers initially, worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings. The operation, under the leadership of District Emergency Officer Shahid Waheed Qamar and later Director of Training Dr Foad Shahzad Mirza, continued overnight and successfully controlled the fire by the following afternoon.

Overall, a total of 173 fire incidents were reported on Eid day, with Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Faisalabad being the most affected areas, with 33, 18, 15, and 13 cases respectively.

The series of fire incidents during Eidul Azha highlights the importance of fire safety measures and emergency preparedness.
