KP CTD's Successful Counter-Terrorism Operations

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has made significant strides in the fight against terrorism in the province. In the first half of this year, the CTD conducted 1,433 intelligence-based operations, successfully preventing 55 terrorist attacks. These operations led to the neutralization of 124 terrorists and the apprehension of 322 others.

One of the key achievements highlighted in the report was the thwarting of a major terrorist plot in Peshawar by apprehending two suicide bombers in time. The CTD also targeted and eliminated key figures linked to various terrorist groups, such as Mohsin Qadir, Betni Padakye, Tipu Gul, Zarar Group, Sunta, and TTP Gandapur Group. Additionally, 14 individuals involved in illegal explosives trafficking were arrested.

The CTD's efforts extended to capturing high-profile targets, including 18 most-wanted terrorists with bounties on their heads. Eight of these individuals were eliminated during operations, while the remaining ten were captured alive. The report also highlighted that 118 police personnel were deliberately targeted in 273 separate terrorist attacks, emphasizing the persistent threat faced by law enforcement in the region.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department's proactive approach and successful operations have significantly contributed to enhancing security in the province. By neutralizing terrorists, preventing attacks, and apprehending key figures, the CTD has demonstrated its commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the public and law enforcement personnel.
