Engineer Aamir Khattak Leads Public Transport Terminal Upgrades

The district administration in Rawalpindi is currently focusing on improving facilities at public transport terminals to enhance passenger convenience. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, has instructed Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place at the terminals. This includes conducting regular checks to ensure compliance with regulations.

Efforts are being made to upgrade bus stands, terminals, rest areas, and petrol pumps. Special attention is being given to maintaining cleanliness in toilets and prayer areas, as well as providing clean drinking water to passengers. Additionally, strict measures are being taken to prevent the sale of substandard or expired food items at tuck shops.

Authorities are also enforcing approved fares on public transport, ensuring vehicle fitness, and cracking down on overloading. It is mandatory for fares to be clearly displayed on vehicles. Stringent actions will be taken against the use of illegal LPG cylinders in public and commercial vehicles.

Engineer Aamir Khattak has directed traffic police and the Secretary Regional Transport Authority to verify the fitness certificates of public transport vehicles and monitor speeding and overloading to ensure passenger safety.
