Commissioner Aamir Khattak leads a crackdown on illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi Division, emphasizing strict enforcement and proactive measures to protect citizens from fraudulent practices.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, has taken a firm stance against illegal housing societies in the region. In a recent directive, he instructed the authorities to launch a comprehensive operation to tackle this issue effectively.

Chairing a meeting, Commissioner Khattak emphasized the need for strict action against violators and illegal housing schemes. The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) was tasked with re-verifying the list of legal and illegal housing schemes within 24 hours, involving all relevant departments for a coordinated effort.

Commissioner Khattak highlighted the importance of scrutinizing revenue records of illegal housing societies and recording details of their owners. He stressed that stringent measures should be taken against the owners of any illegal housing scheme identified.

Furthermore, citizens were advised against investing in such unauthorized schemes. Officials allegedly involved in illegal housing activities were suspended, and legal action was initiated under the PEDA Act.

The RDA has imposed a ban on buying and selling plots in illegal housing schemes, with updated information available on their website daily. During recent operations, numerous violators were issued legal notices, societies were challaned, FIRs were lodged, and offices of illegal housing schemes were sealed.

Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Dr. Hasan Waqar Cheema, and other key officials participated in the meeting, underscoring the seriousness of the crackdown on illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi Division.
