Federal Government Establishes Climate Change Authority to Combat Global Warming

In response to a recent ruling by a three-member Supreme Court bench, the Federal Government has taken a significant step towards addressing the challenges of global warming and environmental degradation. The ruling mandated the establishment of the 'Climate Change Authority' to spearhead efforts in combating climate change.

The Climate Change Authority has been officially set up in compliance with the Climate Change Act of 2017. This move marks a crucial development in the government's commitment to tackling the pressing issues related to climate change.

As per the provisions of the Climate Change Act of 2017, the headquarters of the newly formed Authority will be based in Islamabad. Additionally, the Authority will have the flexibility to establish regional offices in other locations as necessary to effectively carry out its responsibilities.
