In a groundbreaking move, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has unveiled plans to issue 'Himat Card' and 'Nigehban Card' under the Bait-ul-Mal initiative for special citizens. This decision, made during a high-profile meeting, signifies a significant shift towards modernization and inclusivity in social welfare programs.

Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of compiling accurate data for special citizens to ensure effective support. The 'Himat Card' and 'Nigehban Card' aim to empower eligible special citizens by providing them with opportunities to engage in work activities despite their disabilities.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the launch of a loan scheme for individuals and the distribution of assistive devices like wheelchairs to the disabled. A directive was issued to incorporate ramps and special bathrooms in all new government buildings, reinforcing the government's dedication to creating accessible infrastructure.

Financial independence for special citizens was a key focus, with plans to offer loans ranging from one to two hundred thousand rupees. The meeting also discussed the activation of Skills Development Centers in major cities like Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad, with potential expansion to other districts in the future.

The meeting concluded with the approval of Violence Against Women Centers (VAWC) in every division to combat gender-based violence. Additionally, the establishment of a Women Protection Authority Task Force was proposed to enhance women's safety and security.
