A British-Pakistani citizen recently filed a formal complaint against an FIA officer at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, accusing him of physical assault. The complainant, who arrived from Dubai, alleged that ASI Bilal, an immigration officer, punched him in the face and ear, causing bleeding, after a dispute over verifying his e-visa due to a dead phone battery.

Following the complaint, ASI Bilal has been promptly suspended from duty. The passenger's account of the incident prompted a call for immediate action against the officer. The DG of CAA has initiated an inquiry into the matter, with a commitment to take necessary steps if misconduct is confirmed.

Director FIA Lahore Sarfaraz has also taken notice of the incident and suspended ASI Bilal from the Immigration Counter. He has demanded a written explanation from the officer and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of assault on citizens.

The incident underscores the importance of upholding professional conduct and respecting passengers' rights at airports. Such actions not only tarnish the reputation of law enforcement agencies but also violate individuals' dignity and safety.
