Police Officer Accused of Assaulting Orphan Girl

An appalling incident has shocked the community in Rawalpindi, where a 14-year-old orphan girl fell victim to a horrific act of sexual assault by a police officer. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Gujarkhan police station, involving the victim's uncle, identified as Obaidur Rehman, who is currently on the run.

The victim's mother, in her report to the authorities, shared that she lives with her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and brother-in-law, along with her four daughters after her husband's passing. The accused, a 35-year-old police official, would frequently visit his relatives in the same neighborhood. The mother recounted that the perpetrator, Obaid, forcibly assaulted her daughter at gunpoint while she was engrossed in her household chores.

Moreover, the victim's mother detailed in the FIR that the suspect threatened the ninth-grade student, cautioning her of severe repercussions if she spoke about the incident. The threat included implicating her mother and sisters in legal issues. Authorities have launched a manhunt to capture the suspect, who is currently at large.
