On a fateful day in Hyderabad, a devastating explosion at a liquid petroleum gas cylinder filling shop in the Preetabad area resulted in the loss of at least 16 lives. The incident occurred at a shop located on the ground floor of Zacha Bacha Hospital area along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in UC-8 of Neerunkot Town. Two more individuals, Umair (15) and Abbas (14), later succumbed to their injuries, bringing the death toll to 16.

The aftermath of the blast saw seven injured individuals, with seven in critical condition, being rushed to Karachi's Civil Hospital for treatment. Among the approximately 60 people who suffered severe burn injuries, mostly children, initial treatment was provided at Liaquat University Hospital before they were transferred to Karachi. Notably, 18 to 22 individuals with burns ranging from 80 to 90 percent were referred to a major hospital in Karachi for specialized care.

The group of individuals shifted to Karachi for further treatment includes Azam (7), Bilal (11), Azam (9), Hasnain (7), Ali Raza (2), Abdul Hadi (14), Zulfiqar, Akram Shah (38), Raeesudin (35), Ali, Akram (50), Abbas, Dodo (25), and Faizan (40). In a show of concern and support, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with ministers, visited the Burns Ward to inquire about the health of the injured.

The tragic incident in Hyderabad serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety measures and vigilance in handling hazardous materials.
