In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 56-year-old woman named Usaiba tragically lost her life to food poisoning in Thrissur. The incident occurred after consuming 'Kuzhimandhi' from a popular hotel in Perinjanam, leading to 178 individuals experiencing symptoms of food poisoning such as vomiting and diarrhea.

Health officials suspect that the use of raw eggs in mayonnaise at the hotel may have been the root cause of the outbreak. As a result, the hotel underwent inspection and was subsequently shut down for further investigation. Samples were collected for testing to pinpoint the exact source of contamination.

The impact of this incident extended to Usaiba's family, with three of her relatives also falling ill from the same food poisoning. While they sought treatment at a local health clinic, Usaiba's condition deteriorated, necessitating her transfer to a private hospital in Irinjalakuda. Despite medical efforts, Usaiba tragically passed away at the Government Medical College Hospital.
