People's Pink Bus Service Faces Safety Concerns

In recent events involving People's Pink Bus Service in Karachi, two separate incidents have raised concerns about passenger safety and service reliability.

Firstly, a distressing incident occurred on Route No 1 near PAF Base Faisal, where a bus from People's Pink Bus Service caught fire, causing panic and injuries among passengers. The fire, originating from the backside blower of the bus, led to a chaotic stampede as female passengers rushed to exit the bus. Fortunately, despite several injuries from the commotion, there were no reported fatalities. The quick response of the Peoples Red Bus staff passing by helped extinguish the blaze, averting a potential disaster.

Secondly, in a tragic event last November at North Karachi Saleem Center, another pink bus from the same service was involved in a collision with a rickshaw, resulting in one fatality and injuries to five individuals. The collision claimed the life of a rickshaw passenger named Danish, highlighting the importance of road safety and vigilance while commuting.

These incidents underscore the need for stringent safety measures and regular maintenance checks for public transportation services to ensure the well-being of passengers. Authorities and service providers must prioritize passenger safety above all else to prevent such unfortunate events from reoccurring.
