A recent series of meetings between the Matiari Deputy Commissioner's office and National Highway Authority (NHA) officials have successfully resolved all issues related to land acquisition for the construction of the M-6 Motorway from Hyderabad to Sukkur. The official statement released on Friday confirmed that the legal requirements for land acquisition in taluk Matiari have been met, and most obstacles have been overcome.

The Deputy Commissioner of Matiari, Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh, prioritized this project upon assuming office in April. He announced that the land in taluka Matiari is now available for possession. The necessary documentation for the transfer of land ownership is to be jointly prepared by the land acquisition collector and NHA.

A meeting, followed by a joint field visit, was conducted by officials from Matiari, the NHA team, and village staff. The survey team is scheduled to visit Taluka Hala and Saeedabad on June 24 to accurately mark the remaining survey numbers. The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the preparation of documentation for all compensation and damage assessments. Construction on the road is expected to commence shortly.

Notably, the Chief Secretary of Sindh presided over a meeting on June 13, issuing strict directives to expedite and complete the land acquisition process.

The resolution of land acquisition issues for the M-6 Motorway construction marks a significant milestone in the project's progress. With legal requirements met and obstacles overcome, the construction is set to begin, bringing improved connectivity and infrastructure to the region. The collaborative efforts between the Matiari administration and NHA demonstrate a commitment to timely and efficient project execution, benefiting the local communities and enhancing transportation networks.
