Sikh pilgrims from India recently traveled to Pakistan to participate in religious ceremonies at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore, marking the martyrdom day of the fifth Sikh guru, Arjun Dev Ji. The event, attended by Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora, PSGPC officials, ETPB representatives, and local Sikh community members, began on June 8 and is set to conclude on June 17.

The prayer ceremony paid tribute to the significant contributions of Guru Arjun Dev, with Sain Ali Raza Qadri also offering his respects. Minister Arora emphasized the spiritual bond between Mian Mir and Guru Arjun Dev, underscoring the Punjab government's commitment to supporting Sikh religious practices and ensuring their safety.

Minister Arora highlighted the ongoing renovations at Gurdwaras in Jhelum and the upcoming inauguration of a Gurdwara in Faisalabad. He commended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her efforts in extending hospitality to pilgrims and advocating for religious freedom for all minority groups in Pakistan.

Guru Bachan Singh, a Sikh pilgrim, expressed appreciation for the warm reception in Pakistan, viewing the country as a second home with profound religious significance. The security forces were lauded for their exceptional role in maintaining safety throughout the ceremonies.

Furthermore, the significance of the Sikh Marriage Act in Pakistan was underscored as a crucial step in honoring the Sikh community. Minister Arora reiterated the importance of the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims and reaffirmed the government's dedication to safeguarding religious freedoms for all minority populations.
