The National Institute of Maritime Affairs and Bahria University Karachi organized a seminar 'Exploring New Depths' to raise awareness about ocean conservation. Renowned speakers discussed challenges and opportunities in marine conservation, emphasizing the importance of individual action in combating sea pollution.

The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) and Bahria University Karachi joined forces to host a seminar titled 'Exploring New Depths' in honor of World Oceans Day. The event aimed to shed light on the importance of the ocean and promote sustainable practices in marine environments. The seminar commenced with an inspiring speech by President NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed SaeedHI(M), emphasizing the crucial role of the sea for Karachi and advocating for a deeper connection with nature to protect Earth's vital ecosystems for the benefit of all.

Bringing together a diverse audience comprising government officials, industry experts, scholars, and students, the seminar featured renowned speakers from organizations like the National Institute of Oceanography, United Nations FAO, and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency. Dr. Paul Liu from North Carolina State University shared valuable insights on ocean conservation, discussing the challenges and opportunities in this critical field.

Engaging activities for students included a 'pledge wall' initiative where hundreds pledged to preserve the ocean. An online essay competition was also held, with prizes presented by Vice Chancellor of LUAWMS, Professor Dr. Dost Muhammad Baloch. Mayor Karachi, Barrister MurtazaWahabSiddiqui, stressed the importance of individual action in combating sea pollution and protecting the environment as the Chief Guest.

In his closing remarks, Mayor MurtazaWahabSiddiqui underscored the need for improved governance and enforcement to tackle sea pollution effectively. Despite existing policies, he called for collaborative efforts to eliminate pollution and conserve ocean resources. The event concluded with the distribution of souvenirs, with Mayor MurtazaWahabSiddiqui receiving a token of appreciation from President NIMA, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, symbolizing a commitment to ocean conservation.
