The Indus River Fellows organized a ceremony near Almanzar to advocate for water conservation. Eminent speakers highlighted the river's importance in Pakistan's economy, emphasizing the need to safeguard freshwater resources and address water contamination issues in Hyderabad.

A recent ceremony was organized by the Indus river fellows near Almanzar (Jamshoro Bridge) to highlight the importance of the river. The event commenced with a soulful performance by social activist Tariq Aarejo, drawing a large crowd of attendees. Eminent writer Manzoor Thaheem emphasized the vital role of the Indus river as the lifeline of Pakistan's economy and population, likening it to a complete province in itself. Thaheem raised concerns about the wastage of water flowing into the sea, urging Sindhi people, especially the youth, to safeguard Sindh's freshwater resources.

During the ceremony, Afsheen Memon, daughter of writer Faheem Noonari, and Karim Bux Balouch shared their perspectives on the significance of preserving the Indus river. The gathering also included university professors, teachers, students, workers, writers, and poets, who echoed the sentiment that freshwater resources are invaluable. Professors Shahzad Baladi and Yaqoob Chandio highlighted the contamination of water sources in Hyderabad, leading to the spread of harmful diseases.

The participants pledged to transform the 'save Indus river' initiative into a widespread movement to secure the rightful water allocation for the region.
