Punjab University's Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics recently organized a two-day workshop focusing on 'Insilico genome-wide analyses'. The workshop aimed to enhance students' understanding of generating, analyzing, and interpreting genomics data, making it globally accessible.
The event, attended by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider, and other distinguished guests, emphasized the importance of practical training and international collaborations in elevating educational standards.
Guest speakers Adnan Sami and Zeeshan Haider provided valuable insights into retrieving biological data from online databases and using bioinformatics tools for analysis. Participants, including students from various disciplines, were trained to operate different software and tools using available databases.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates and shields by PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Haider, recognizing the contributions of the speakers and organizers to the success of the event.
