During the recent National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, the Prime Minister gave his approval to the Ministry of Planning's proposal. According to the latest census conducted in 2023, the current growth rate stands at 2.55 percent, which is one of the highest in the region. To achieve the target, the Ministry of Planning is working towards lowering the total fertility rate to 2.2 percent by 2030, as it currently stands at 3.32 percent in the fiscal year 2024.
