Chief Minister Gandapur Initiates Health and Education Reforms

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has announced a special assistance package aimed at enhancing maternal and child health care in underprivileged areas of the province. This initiative focuses on providing pregnant women with essential nutrients and food supplements to prevent infant stunted growth, emphasizing the importance of reducing infant mortality rates.

During the recent Provincial Population Task Force meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of strengthening the midwifery sector and enforcing the Child Marriage Act to safeguard the well-being of mothers and children. Discussions also revolved around the mandatory inclusion of blood tests in marriage certificates and the importance of accessible family planning services in healthcare centers across the province.

Addressing the challenge of a rapidly growing population, the Chief Minister stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy involving collaboration between the government, partner organizations, and the private sector. In a separate meeting focusing on the financial issues of public sector universities, the Chief Minister explored ways to enhance the financial sustainability of these institutions. A committee was formed to assess the financial constraints faced by universities and provide recommendations for their self-sufficiency. The Chief Minister also directed the timely payment of salaries to university employees and encouraged the adoption of solar energy solutions to reduce electricity costs, with government support for solarization projects.
