RUDA Takes Decisive Action Against Tire-Burning Factories

In a significant move towards environmental preservation, the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) in Lahore has recently conducted a decisive operation against tire-burning factories, also known as pyrolysis plants, within its jurisdiction. This operation was carried out in compliance with directives from the Lahore High Court, aiming to address one of the main causes of air pollution in the city.

During the operation, RUDA, in collaboration with its Environment Department and other relevant administrative bodies, successfully dismantled five pyrolysis plants and promptly sealed one fuel-making facility to prevent further environmental degradation. The operation was led by Director Ijaz Ahmed and Deputy Director Environment Nadia Tahir, showcasing RUDA's commitment to enforcing environmental regulations and combating pollution.

RUDA has been proactive in warning the owners of these factories about the consequences of re-establishing such hazardous facilities within its jurisdiction. Any attempts to do so would result in immediate demolition as per the orders of the High Court, demonstrating the authority's zero-tolerance policy towards activities that contribute to environmental harm.

Furthermore, RUDA has outlined a comprehensive strategy to tackle the issue of smog and environmental degradation, including the installation of scrubbers, restrictions on unauthorized fuels in factories, and other measures aimed at managing industrial waste effectively.
