During Eid Al-Adha, Saudi Arabia's Communications, Space and Technology Commission reported a record 44.8 million phone calls and 5,790 terabytes of data consumption, showcasing exceptional mobile network performance in Makkah.

During the recent Eid Al-Adha celebrations, pilgrims in Makkah and the holy sites achieved a remarkable milestone in communication. According to the Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission, a total of 44.8 million phone calls were made on Sunday, setting a new record. Among these calls, 38.04 million were local, while 6.76 million were international, with an impressive success rate exceeding 99 percent.

Additionally, pilgrims utilized a substantial amount of data during the holiday period, consuming a total of 5,790 terabytes. To provide context, this data usage is equivalent to streaming over 2.37 million hours of high-definition, 1080p video content. On average, each subscriber used 779.93 megabytes of data per day, which is more than double the global average of 380MB.

The mobile internet infrastructure in the area demonstrated exceptional performance, offering an average download speed of 376.18 megabits per second and an average upload speed of 48.04Mbps, as per the commission's report.

The successful communication records and data usage during Eid Al-Adha highlight the efficiency and reliability of the mobile network infrastructure in Makkah and the holy sites.
